Joe has been busy with game counts over the entire Balule during the past 3 days and today it was our turn to watch the helicopter manouevring over the reserve, hovering every now and then whilst the counters confirmed numbers of animals seen in a herd. But the best news of all is that he saw 2 lion cubs near Marula drive on the koppje below the ridge of units near B12. Not a sound has been heard from any lion for the past week at least, and despite us having about 6 units in at the moment, the game sightings have been very quiet. Benny and Nelia (A8) saw a very brief view of a leopard last evening, also on Marula Drive. The bush continues to thicken with the majority of trees bearing bright green foliage.
