What a magical evening the rain made the bush late yesterday – reed frogs tinkling away in the darkness calling far and wide – such a melodious sound. Huddled up Grey Loeries sat sodden amongst the soaked leaves on the trees softly calling to each other for reassurance. The scene that met me this morning was unbelievable the bush suddenly transformed looking as though it had been freshly laundered – sparkling fresh green leaves against dark branches and trunks and large puddles everywhere which by their spoor many antelope had visited during the early morning. We received an average of 35mm between the office and the gate bringing our season to date total to 80.25mm – lets hope that the trend continues?
