News snippet 19 January 2013

Storm clouds are rolling in and the symphony of bush sounds has quietened in anticipation of the very high rainfall expected this evening and tomorrow. We had another 26mm rain last evening and are presently sitting on 247mm for the month and 498mm for the season to date. Weather alerts keep on coming in warning of the very heavy falls expected. It was exactly a year ago on the 18th when the cyclone discarded it’ load on us, causing massive destruction. The 2012 floods will forever be etched in our minds, and we can only hope that with the already sodden ground and full rivers all will be well.
