Before the sun peeped over the horizon this morning the sky was so pretty – with a baby blue backround the stripes of cloud became a beautiful pink as the sun rose – Africa is just the best! A lion was again heard last evening, but this time he was heading away from the floodplain as his roaring became fainter and fainter. Here in the camp, at the back of unit A3, the Combretum microphyllum (Flame Creeper) is just beginning to show signs that the bright red flowers (similar to a shaving brush) will soon be opening. The lapa thatching is completed and looks really spectacular especially with the Cape Reeds that have been used inside. The road works on Rocky Horror should be completed this afernoon and to celebrate Joe is rewarding the team with drinks after work.
