News Snippet 8 September 2012

It feels as though it’s rained for “40 days and 40 nights” and it’s still raining. This is just unbelievable – 40.5mm for the season already! Everything is absoluted soaked and the shrubs and some of the trees are already bursting with new leaves. The Sjambok Pods are a sight to behold, with their buttercup yellow flowers and bright green feathery leaves clothing the ends of the branches. Huge puddles are lying all over the reserve which our feathered friends are socialising at. Our cats seem to have gone to ground as we’ve not heard them since the start of the rain, but they’re out there somewhere.
